Be My Valentine

Winter is fun, but it is long so for when it is many degrees. below zero Fahrenheit  (wimpy folks love to brag about their negative numbers in Celcius) we must think of other things to do when it is simple too cold to go outside. I know, like bake a cake or do a craft. Why not insist on a baking a 4 layer Valentine's cake. After all, swimsuit season is not just around the corner

I do worry about my parents a little. My Mom gets far too much screen time these days. While running on the treadmill between Halloween and Valentines day she has watched every episode of "The Good Wife" and "Dowton Abby" . Seriously, somebody needs to monitor her screen time. In her defense , it would be a really bad idea to be running on icy roads this winter. (Oh..and spare the lecture about "babies are really safe in there" Yes..but find any OR team who really wants to operate on a pregnant women broken ankle, femur, elbow.)
Marquette skis are another story. Half way between a ski and a snow shoe with trails to be blazed out the back door. Pretty awesome. No lift line. It's pretty awesome how different the views are from summer, with no leaves on the trees and given it takes about 2 hours to go 4 miles...I think the risk of a high speed crash is ...nil.
I do my best to look out for my Mom's health and well fare and offer post run massages whenever I can. I like to do the job with baby wipes. I really like baby wipes. I find them to be ever so effective in washing windows as well. When you take a step back, that little layer of aloe vera shows just how much work you have done.

My Dad had at least gets some outside time in racing his bike. Nice show for the camera  Daddio...both tires in the air. He raced in a race called the Polar Roll.

Dad ...What's a polar roll?
